{"id":30532,"date":"2025-05-23T13:30:24","date_gmt":"2025-05-23T17:30:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blueheronhealthnews.com\/site\/?p=30532"},"modified":"2025-05-23T01:12:47","modified_gmt":"2025-05-23T05:12:47","slug":"enlarged-prostate-caused-by-an-everyday-drink","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blueheronhealthnews.com\/site\/2025\/05\/23\/enlarged-prostate-caused-by-an-everyday-drink\/","title":{"rendered":"Enlarged Prostate caused by an everyday drink"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blueheronhealthnews.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Coffee-173860594.jpg\" alt=\"Enlarged Prostate caused by an everyday drink\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-9399\" \/>Yes, you may love it.<\/p>\n<p>But is it worth inflating your prostate by 52%?<\/p>\n<p>Because that\u2019s what it does, according to a new study in <em>Frontiers in Nutrition<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s, however, a way to enjoy this drink and shrink your prostate\u2026 if you do it the right way.<\/p>\n<p>The researchers used data from the U.S. National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey from 2005 to 2008.<\/p>\n<p>This survey collects health and diet information from a large, nationally representative group of adult Americans.<\/p>\n<p>They analyzed the data of 2,374 men over the age of 40.<\/p>\n<p>These men completed two 24-hour food recall surveys, which researchers used to estimate their average daily caffeine intake from all sources\u2014including coffee, tea, soft drinks, and energy drinks.<\/p>\n<p>The men were divided into three groups based on their caffeine intake:<\/p>\n<dl>\n<dd>\n&#8226;\tLow intake: less than 106.5 milligrams per day<\/p>\n<p>&#8226;\tModerate intake: 106.5 to 261.5 milligrams per day<\/p>\n<p>&#8226;\tHigh intake: 261.5 milligrams or more per day\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<p>They also reported whether they had ever been diagnosed with an enlarged prostate.<\/p>\n<p><em>Here are the key findings:<\/em><\/p>\n<dl>\n<dd>\n1.\tMen in the high-caffeine intake group were 52% more likely to report having an enlarged prostate compared to those in the low-intake group.<\/p>\n<p>2.\tThis link remained strong even after accounting for age, weight, smoking, income, blood pressure, and other health factors.\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<p><em>Certain subgroups saw an even stronger link than the general population did:<\/em><\/p>\n<dl>\n<dd>\n1.\tMen with high blood pressure had more than double the risk if they consumed high levels of caffeine.<\/p>\n<p>2.\tFormer smokers, those with middle income levels, those married or living with partners, and those with lower education showed a particularly strong risk.<\/p>\n<p>3.\tMen with high blood pressure and those with uric acid levels in the normal range (between 5.5 and 6.5 milligrams per deciliter) also showed a higher risk.<\/p>\n<p>4.\tOther than high blood pressure, men without cardiovascular disease were more affected than those without it.\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<p>If you are a man over 60 \u2014 especially with high blood pressure or urinary issues \u2014 watch your caffeine intake carefully.<\/p>\n<p>The high-intake group in this study consumed the equivalent of two to three cups of coffee daily, suggesting you should cut back to a maximum of one cup daily.<\/p>\n<p>Or go decaf and drink as much as you want.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blueheronhealthnews.com\/health\/the-prostate-protocol-sl-bhhn\/\">But there is an easy way to shrink an enlarged prostate naturally (and enjoy your coffee, too) using simple diet and lifestyle changes explained here (thousands of men have done it)&#8230;<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yes, you may love it.
