{"id":30501,"date":"2025-05-03T13:30:06","date_gmt":"2025-05-03T17:30:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blueheronhealthnews.com\/site\/?p=30501"},"modified":"2025-05-03T07:29:26","modified_gmt":"2025-05-03T11:29:26","slug":"this-sleep-apnea-trick-cut-your-death-risk-76","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blueheronhealthnews.com\/site\/2025\/05\/03\/this-sleep-apnea-trick-cut-your-death-risk-76\/","title":{"rendered":"This Sleep Apnea Trick Cut Your Death Risk 76%"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blueheronhealthnews.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Sleep-Apnea.png\" alt=\"This Sleep Apnea Trick Cut Your Death Risk 76%\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-9399\" \/>Sleep apnea is actually a very dangerous disease \u2014 causing stroke, heart attack, dementia, and a long list of other life-threatening conditions.<\/p>\n<p>But according to a new study published in <em>The Lancet Respiratory Medicine<\/em>, you can cut your risk of dying from some of these conditions by as much as 76%.<\/p>\n<p>And you can do it while sleeping.<\/p>\n<p>There are two major problems related to sleep apnea and its treatment.<\/p>\n<p>Despite its dangers, up to 80% of people with sleep apnea don\u2019t even know they have it.<\/p>\n<p>And for those who do, CPAP therapy can feel inconvenient or uncomfortable at first.<\/p>\n<p><em>That\u2019s why researchers set out to answer a big question:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Does CPAP therapy actually save lives?<\/p>\n<p>In other words, is it worth getting officially diagnosed and treated, given the difficulties?<\/p>\n<p>To find the answer, a team of scientists searched through thousands of studies to find the most reliable data.<\/p>\n<p>They ended up analyzing 30 carefully selected studies: 10 clinical trials and 20 well-controlled observational studies.<\/p>\n<p>These studies included over 1.17 million adults with sleep apnea, with the average participant being nearly 60 years old \u2014 and about three-quarters being male.<\/p>\n<p>All studies compared people with sleep apnea who used CPAP therapy to those who did not, tracking how many people died from any cause, or specifically from heart-related issues, over an average of about five years.<\/p>\n<p><em>The results were perfectly clear:<\/em><\/p>\n<dl>\n<dd>\n1.\tPeople who used CPAP had a 37% lower risk of dying from any cause compared to those who didn\u2019t use it.<\/p>\n<p>2.\tThe risk of dying specifically from heart-related causes was even lower\u2014reduced by 55% in people using CPAP.<\/p>\n<p>3.\tThe more hours per night people used the device, the lower their risk\u2014ranging from only a small benefit at two hours, a moderate benefit at four hours, and a reduced risk of 26% at six hours.<\/p>\n<p>4.\tIn observational studies, which tracked patients over longer periods, benefits were even bigger \u2014 with all-cause death dropping by 45% and <strong>cardiovascular death decreasing by up to 76%.<\/strong><\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<p>Accordingly, this study offers strong evidence that CPAP therapy doesn\u2019t just help people feel more rested\u2014it can save lives.<\/p>\n<p>The authors hoped this could be the motivation people needed to start \u2014 and stick with \u2014 their CPAP treatment.<\/p>\n<p>Now, the problem is of course that people don\u2019t use their CPAP, or kick it off at night.<\/p>\n<p>But there\u2019s a simpler, easier way that eliminates sleep apnea permanently.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blueheronhealthnews.com\/health\/stop-snoring-exercise-program-sl-2017-3-19\/\"><strong>The simple 3-minute throat exercises explained here will stop your snoring and sleep apnea as soon as tonight\u2026<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sleep apnea is actually a very dangerous disease \u2014 causing stroke, heart attack, dementia, and a long list of other life-threatening conditions.
