Because new research from the Brazilian Society of Dermatology<\/em> reveals an extreme but effective solution.<\/p>\n A solution that can rid you of the most stubborn nail fungus.<\/p>\n Ignoring nail fungus won\u2019t make it go away\u2014in fact, it only gets worse.<\/p>\n Left untreated, nail fungus can form biofilms, thick clusters of fungal cells that create a protective barrier.<\/p>\n Once they form, it\u2019s nearly impossible for antifungal ointments to penetrate and kill the infection.<\/p>\n In this study, researchers focused on severe cases of nail fungus that had resisted treatment for over a year.<\/p>\n Eight people with twelve infected nails had undergone multiple antifungal treatments without success.<\/p>\n Medical exams and fungal cultures had confirmed every case.<\/p>\n To tackle this, researchers tried a surgical approach known as surgical avulsion<\/strong>\u2014a nail removal procedure.<\/p>\n Here\u2019s how the procedure worked:<\/p>\n • Distal approach<\/strong>: This is used when the nail is partially detached, allowing for a gentler removal.<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n Before you cringe, know that each procedure was done under local anesthesia to keep it as pain-free as possible.<\/p>\n Once the nails were removed, antifungal treatments were applied directly to the exposed nail beds.<\/p>\n The researchers monitored each patient\u2019s nail growth to see if they would grow back without infection.<\/p>\n The results were promising<\/em>:<\/p>\n • Minimal Complications<\/strong>: Three patients experienced nail dystrophy or minor abnormal growth without pain, bleeding, or inflammation.<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n These findings suggest that surgical nail removal, combined with targeted antifungal treatment, could be viable for those dealing with unresponsive nail fungus.<\/p>\n But it\u2019s not entirely free of risks.<\/p>\n Fortunately, there\u2019s an easier way to attack stubborn nail fungus.<\/p>\n I use a unique \u201ctwo-punch approach\u201d…<\/p>\n Punch one<\/em><\/strong>: you attack the fungus from the outside-in with homemade creams you apply to your nails.<\/p>\n Punch two<\/em><\/strong>: you \u201csneak-attack\u201d the fungus from the inside-out with food full of specific nutrients the fungus can\u2019t stand.
