{"id":29397,"date":"2024-10-05T13:30:06","date_gmt":"2024-10-05T17:30:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blueheronhealthnews.com\/site\/?p=29397"},"modified":"2024-09-25T00:55:17","modified_gmt":"2024-09-25T04:55:17","slug":"how-exercise-causes-heart-attacks-and-strokes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blueheronhealthnews.com\/site\/2024\/10\/05\/how-exercise-causes-heart-attacks-and-strokes\/","title":{"rendered":"How exercise causes Heart Attacks and Strokes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blueheronhealthnews.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Running-2419712.jpg\" alt=\"How exercise causes Heart Attacks and Strokes\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-9399\" \/>The right way to exercise prevents stroke and heart attack.<\/p>\n<p>The wrong way increases heart attack deaths by 160%.<\/p>\n<p>This is according to a new study published in the <em>Mayo Clinic Proceedings<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>In this study, the researchers followed 2,377 people who had already had a cardiac event in the preceding 10 years to explore the effects of different exercise patterns on the likelihood that they would die after another cardiac event.<\/p>\n<p>Here is what they found:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Those who did the metabolic equivalent of a 1.07 to 1.8 km run every day reduced their risk of cardiac death by 21%.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Those who did the equivalent of a 1.8 to 3.6 km run reduced their risk of cardiac death by 24%.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Those who did the equivalent of a 3.6 to 5.4 km run reduced their risk of cardiac death by 50%.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Those who did the equivalent of a 5.4 to 7.2 km run reduced their risk of cardiac death by 63%.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 But, those who did the equivalent of a run longer than 7.2 km Increased their risk of cardiac death by 160%.<\/p>\n<p>So, while more exercise is better than a small amount of it, there is a point at which too much exercise becomes a risk to your heart.<\/p>\n<p>This study used people who had previous cardiac events as its subjects. However, the findings seem to be consistent among healthy individuals as well.<\/p>\n<p><strong>So, moderate exercise can help.
