{"id":22085,"date":"2020-05-24T13:30:46","date_gmt":"2020-05-24T17:30:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blueheronhealthnews.com\/site\/?p=22085"},"modified":"2020-05-22T08:13:52","modified_gmt":"2020-05-22T12:13:52","slug":"this-unhealthy-food-cures-high-cholesterol","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blueheronhealthnews.com\/site\/2020\/05\/24\/this-unhealthy-food-cures-high-cholesterol\/","title":{"rendered":"This \u201cUnhealthy\u201d Food Cures High Cholesterol"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blueheronhealthnews.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Dairy-Products-7914156-2.jpg\" alt=\"This \u201cUnhealthy\u201d Food Cures High Cholesterol \" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-9399\" \/>There\u2019s an unprecedented amount of people taking statins and following dietary advice from the American Heart Association to cure their high cholesterol problems. <\/p>\n<p>But, if they\u2019re following such expert medical advice, why are high cholesterol and cardiovascular disease cases skyrocketing around the world? <\/p>\n<p>A research group from Dublin put a revolutionary theory to a test in a study published in the journal <em>Nutrition &#038; Diabetes<\/em> &#8211; if something isn\u2019t working, do the exact opposite!<\/p>\n<p>It was related to eating more of something that we\u2019ve always been told was bad for us. <\/p>\n<p>And, this so-called \u201cbad\u201d food does wonders for our cholesterol levels.<\/p>\n<p>Most of us grew up with the advice that dairy is unhealthy and we should restrict our intake of milk, butter, cheese, cheese, and cream.<\/p>\n<p>The good news is what you\u2019ve been told isn\u2019t entirely true. <\/p>\n<p>Previously, we were told dairy products contain saturated fat, and saturated fat increases our levels of LDL (bad) cholesterol.<\/p>\n<p>However, a recent study proved otherwise.<\/p>\n<p>Researchers asked 1500 adults to keep food diaries for four days. They also collected their subject&#8217;s fasting blood samples and conducted various other tests.<\/p>\n<p>Those who ate more dairy products had the lowest body mass indices, the lowest percentage of body fat, the smallest waist circumference, the smallest waist-to-hip ratio, and the lowest systolic and diastolic blood pressure, which are all signs of good health.<\/p>\n<p>The subjects were split into three groups. They consumed:<\/p>\n<p>1. Butter and cream;<br \/>\n2. Whole milk;<br \/>\n3. Reduced fat milks and yogurt.<\/p>\n<p>If the traditional advice is correct, you would expect the last group to have yielded the healthiest results \u2013 however, they had higher total cholesterol and triglyceride (blood fat) levels than the other groups.<\/p>\n<p>Those who drank the most milk, whole or low-fat, had lower circulating levels of some inflammatory markers than their peers, and also had higher insulin sensitivity.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blueheronhealthnews.com\/health\/the-cholesterol-strategy-sl\/\">But eating too much of anything isn\u2019t that healthy.
