{"id":21164,"date":"2019-11-10T13:30:03","date_gmt":"2019-11-10T18:30:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blueheronhealthnews.com\/site\/?p=21164"},"modified":"2019-11-08T08:19:16","modified_gmt":"2019-11-08T13:19:16","slug":"be-aware-of-these-popular-herbal-remedies-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blueheronhealthnews.com\/site\/2019\/11\/10\/be-aware-of-these-popular-herbal-remedies-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Be Aware of These Popular Herbal Remedies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blueheronhealthnews.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Herb-Capsule-268041070.jpg\" alt=\"Be Aware Of These Popular Herbal Remedies\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-9399\" \/>Herbal remedies can be extremely powerful in tackling various diseases. <\/p>\n<p>But be warned.<\/p>\n<p>According to a new study from the University of Guelph\u2019s Biodiversity Institute, you are at a 60 percent risk of getting completely different results than you expect.<\/p>\n<p>And sometimes these herbal consequences can be lethal.<\/p>\n<p>Almost 60 percent of herbal supplements investigated contained substances that were not listed in the ingredient list.<\/p>\n<p>In one-third, the prime ingredient was replaced with a completely different product!<\/p>\n<p>Almost 20 percent of the herbal supplements contained various unlisted fillers, such as wheat, soybeans, and rice.<\/p>\n<p>The study investigated 12 companies that produce herbal supplements, and only 2 of them did not use any fillers, unlisted additives, or contaminants in their products (the authors did not, unfortunately, reveal which companies were good and bad).<\/p>\n<p>Unlisted ingredients could pose serious health hazards to consumers. Various herbal supplements are not recommended for long-term use and could interfere with other health conditions and ingredients.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, there is a high risk for people with allergies, as some products were found to be contaminated with walnut leaves and gluten.<\/p>\n<p>This may explain why some studies have \u201cproved\u201d various herbal remedies useless for conditions, even if it\u2019s a well-known fact that the true herb actually works.<\/p>\n<p>In the US, there is still very little control over these herbal products.
