{"id":21056,"date":"2019-10-29T13:30:59","date_gmt":"2019-10-29T17:30:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blueheronhealthnews.com\/site\/?p=21056"},"modified":"2019-10-29T04:04:28","modified_gmt":"2019-10-29T08:04:28","slug":"this-supplement-cured-diabetes-study","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blueheronhealthnews.com\/site\/2019\/10\/29\/this-supplement-cured-diabetes-study\/","title":{"rendered":"This Supplement Cured Diabetes (study)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blueheronhealthnews.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Ginkgo_biloba-311636776.jpg\" alt=\"This Supplement Cured Diabetes (study)\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-9399\" \/>Is it possible that one single supplement can cure type 2 diabetes?<\/p>\n<p>A supplement that\u2019s available in all health food stores!<\/p>\n<p>Yes, says a new study published in the journal <em>Diabetes, Metabolic Syndrome and Obesity: Targets and Therapy.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Traditional medicine often makes use of ginkgo biloba supplements, but their use in modern medicine is often laughed off as an ineffective fad. <\/p>\n<p>A new study has just concluded that they might be effective in the treatment of type 2 diabetes, published in the journal <em>Diabetes, Metabolic Syndrome and Obesity: Targets and Therapy.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In this study, the scientists first produced type 2 diabetes in a group of 40 rats, by feeding them a high-fat diet for eight weeks before injecting them with a low dose of streptozotocin, a substance that destroys insulin-producing beta cells in the pancreas.<\/p>\n<p>They then divided the rats into four groups: <\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\ta control group without diabetes,<br \/>\n&#8211;\ta diabetic group treated with nothing,<br \/>\n&#8211;\ta diabetic group treated with a ginkgo biloba leaf extract, and<br \/>\n&#8211;\ta diabetic group treated with magnetic water.<\/p>\n<p>Needless to say, the diabetic group treated with nothing remained sick.<\/p>\n<p>But even though the researchers expected the groups treated with ginkgo biloba and magnetic water to improve, they were stunned when they noticed the size of the effect.<\/p>\n<p>The pancreatic beta cells in these two groups started increasing in mass and in their ability to produce insulin. The ginkgo-biloba-treated rats, especially, displayed such an improvement in pancreatic beta-cell function that their pancreatic beta cells almost resembled the cells of the rats without diabetes\u2026<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;meaning: you could say these rats were cured!<\/p>\n<p>Both the treatments also reduced oxidative stress and oxidative damage caused by diabetes to pancreatic cells.<\/p>\n<p>But results for rats and results for humans always differ a little.
