What they found was those who consumed nuts every day were 20 percent less likely to die compared to study participants who never consumed nuts. <\/p>\n<p>They were, in fact, less likely to die of any cause!<\/p>\n<p>The risk of cardiovascular related deaths was reduced 29 percent, as well as an 11 percent reduction of cancer-related deaths in the group that ate nuts seven times a week, compared to the ones that never ate nuts. <\/p>\n<p>The general opinion is that because nuts are loaded with certain fats they contribute to weight gain. However, the study also proved that participants who often enjoyed this healthy snack were much slimmer than the ones that didn\u2019t eat nuts. <\/p>\n<p>Researchers can\u2019t exactly point out the reason why nuts are so healthy. It might be their rich content in unsaturated fatty acids, minerals and vitamins. <\/p>\n<p>Many previous studies have shown that nuts have cholesterol- and inflammation-lowering abilities as well. <\/p>\n<p>The American Heart Association recommends at least four servings of unsalted, sugar-free nuts a week. <\/p>\n<p>All kinds of tree nuts are beneficial to our health.
