The research team found that not only did nappers have at least 5% lower systolic blood pressure than non-nappers, but they also had healthier arteries.<\/p>\n<p>The pulse wave velocity in the napping group was 11% lower than the non-napping group. This is a measure of vessel health, and the results indicate the napping group has less damage to the blood vessels and the heart.<\/p>\n<p>The researchers also found that people who take a nap in the middle of the day also take fewer medications, lower doses, and are less likely to need medicines at all to manage high blood pressure.<\/p>\n<p>So if you are able to do it, find a way to grab a cat nap in the afternoon.
