Controversial Plant Treats HypothyroidismMany studies have discovered that people who are vitamin D-deficient are more likely than the general population to develop hypothyroidism.

The most obvious way to remedy this problem is to get more vitamin D, right?

Actually, no!

There is a body of research that finds that the vitamin D levels in our bodies could be increased using a very controversial plant extract. This is because the receptors of this plant extract and those for vitamin D in our cells operate quite similarly.

But does this plant then treat hypothyroidism?

A new study in the Journal of Food Science and Technology answers that question with a solid YES!

The authors of this study fed their rats a vitamin D-deficient diet. They then gave them cannabinoid (CBD).

They checked the CBD receptors and vitamin D receptors of the rats to see whether their CBD and vitamin D content had increased, and they measured their thyroid hormones to see whether the CBD was having the desired effect.

They found exactly what they predicted:

1. The cannabinoid receptors in their thyroid glands were four times more active than those in the vitamin D-deficient rats.

2. The vitamin D receptors were 151.72% more active in their livers and 66% more active in their kidneys.

3. Vitamin D increased by 189.42% in their blood, by 73.84% in their kidneys, and by 58.11% in their livers.

4. Most importantly, their thyroxine increased by 59.9%, which is the main thyroid hormone that is low in hypothyroidism patients.

5. Their calcitonin increased by 213.59%. This is another thyroid hormone that regulates the amount of calcium in our bodies for good bone health.

6. Their thyroid-stimulating hormone decreased by 36.15%. An overabundance of this hormone is usually present in hypothyroidism patients.

7. Their parathyroid hormone decreased by 38.64%. An overabundance of parathyroid hormone causes the release of too much calcium into the bloodstream, which is a serious heart disease risk.

This study is hugely promising if the conclusion holds for humans too. It means that we can take CBD to treat hypothyroidism and simultaneously increase the amount of vitamin D in our bodies.

CBD is an active ingredient in the cannabis plant, but it is not the chemical that produces the high of marijuana smoke. Nor is it addictive.

Unfortunately, it’s not currently legally available as a supplement in all US states or other countries. In those cases, it needs to be prescribed by a doctor. So it’s up to you to show your doctor this study and beg for a prescription.

Although CBD may help for hypothyroidism, it’s not enough to completely heal it. To do that, you need to follow in the footsteps of thousands of readers—readers who have already healed their hypothyroidism using the simple steps explained here…
