Stunningly, a cheap, safe, common herb has now been proved to be as effective as one of the leading blood pressure medications, without any side effects.
What’s more, in this double-blind study, the herb actually optimized cholesterol levels in participants – where the drug had no effects on cholesterol.
Olive oil is phrased for its heart health abilities. But other parts of the olive tree may even be more effective.
In the study published in the medical journal Phytomedicine, a group of people with stage-1 hypertension were recruited. For eight weeks, half the group received the ACE inhibitor drug Captopril while the other half got 1000 mg of olive leaf extract daily.
ACE inhibitors are the most common blood pressure medications used. They’re also some of the most dangerous in the form of side effects.
Just a few examples of common side effects are dizziness, headache, drowsiness, diarrhea, low blood pressure, weakness, cough, and rash. More serious side effects are heart attack and stroke, exactly the causes of death they are supposed to prevent.
After eight weeks, everyone’s blood pressure was measured. And yes, the drug group had lowered their blood pressure. But the olive leaf extract group had lowered their blood pressure just as much.
But that was not the end of the story.
Researchers also measured the triglyceride levels in everyone’s blood. Triglyceride is sometimes called “the third cholesterol” in addition to LDL and HDL cholesterol. And it’s considered the worst of them all.
The oil leaf group had significantly lowered their triglyceride level whereas the ACH drug had no improvements in cholesterol level.
So, if you have high blood pressure, it’s your choice:
a) A dangerous blood pressure drug with a long list of side effects.
b) A safe herb that, in addition to giving the same blood pressure benefits as drugs, also improves cholesterol levels and many other health markers.
The fact remains that with all the side effects blood pressure medications bring, they almost never manage to bring people’s blood pressure down to a healthy level: 120/80. Neither do herbs.
The ineffectiveness of drugs is one of those “secrets” everyone in the medical system knows, but never really tells to fill the pockets of everyone involved.
If you want to heal your high blood pressure, you also need to make some lifestyle changes.
By far, the simplest and most effective method I know to heal high blood pressure is a set of 3 easy blood pressure exercises.
Follow the example of thousands of readers who have used these easy blood pressure exercises successfully here…
Must be worth trying, anything is better then harmful synthetic drugs.
Can you tell me if there is anywhere in North Devon, England where the olive leaf can be bought. Sounds good.
Thanks
Bryan
Which olive tree? Kalamata, Manzanillo or Arbequina, or would ALL of them be candidates?
Let's conclude with telling us where we can get this olive leaf extract!!
Wonderful must try
Information
"neither do herbs" Refreshing honesty.
Can I take olive leaf extract WITH my current blood pressure medication? Also, what dosage is recommended? 100mg 500 mg 750 mg
Thank you for your time and energy!
Interesting, who makes best product , where can I get it and what dosage should I consume?
Curt: In the study they used 500mg twice a day. So that’s what we have to assume is the dose that will help. I recommend you consult with your doctor before taking any herbal medications in association with other medications.
Bharat: It didn’t say in the study which type of live tree they used. I would think all of them were effective.
John, Linda and Bryan: You should be able to get olive leaf extract in any local health foods store. Alternatively on Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk.
Hope that answered everyone’s questions.
Warm regards,
Christian G

can you please help me on this .
Thanks George
Being the herb it is worth trying. Atleast the danger of side effects of the allopathic drugs can be avoided . availability of these leaves may please be made known.
Yes, that’s lovely know olive leaf extract can reduce HBP must check some organic stores for this. I have taken 25yrs avapro then changed to cordilox and alpha press but nada good effect or very minimal. But when I drink tea out of home dried lemongrass with peppermint and eat beetroot fresh or crushed into shake with apple, pear and celery I feel my blood pressure is good. No turgidity of the nape or swaying feeling. Better focus and footing.
