There are two types of people in the world: those who win the war against stroke, and those who tragically don’t. That’s the hard, cold truth.
To win this war, you’re going to need weapons. Weapons in the form of a food that will cut through stroke like a hot knife through butter.
But we’re not talking about butter.
Improving your diet and consuming more healthy food is critical for reducing the risk of developing heart disease and stroke. That’s a fact we’re all familiar with. So what’s the food you should eat to deliver a knockout punch to your risk of getting stroke?
You guessed it! Yes, fruits and vegetables are undeniably the best things you can eat. This fact has been established yet again by the research study that analyzed data of nearly 760,000 people in 20 studies conducted across the world in the past 19 years.
The study shows that consuming about 200 grams (about 7 ounces) of fruit every day can cut down the risk of stroke by up to 32 percent!
Vegetables had slightly less impressive yet significant results. Eating 200 grams of vegetables in a day reduced the risk of developing stroke by 11 percent.
What could be a tastier way to ensure good health? The researchers point out that fruits and vegetables are good because they provide the essential micro and macronutrients necessary for the body.
This study focused on a particular type of stroke called ischemic stroke that is caused by a hemorrhage or blood clot.
The results were found to have consistent effects on both men and women.
Apart from reducing the risk of stroke, fruits and vegetables are great for reducing blood pressure; improve blood vessel function, good for losing weight and cuts down cholesterol and inflammation. It turns out that your mom was right when she told you to eat your greens (and fruits, of course!).

Eat your fruits and vegetables! Old wisdom but ever so true.
Just think about it. 100 years ago 2/3 of everyones plate was vegetables. Now… maybe 1/10 on the average. Common sense right?
I try to eat at least two servings of fruits every day for about 5 years now.
I have to say my health improved, especially compared to some of the people my age..
Fruits and veggies are the best source of natural vitamins and fiber.
“An apple a day keeps a doctor away” a lot of wisdom hidden behind this saying.
To eat fruits and vegetables leads to good health, better life.
I agree on fruits and vegetables. I will be 78yrs. old next month. Take 1 aspirin a day, no prescriptions only natural. Healthy, do my own gardening love it
No doubt that they lead to good health and maybe what you write is true but your article would be more credible if you could cite the study, its authors and the publication date and journal.

I thank you for your instructions so far. I know quite well that vegetables is ok for our consumption but in the case of fruits you did not name the fruits or any kind of fruits. I can remember reading from you sometime in the past that some fruits are not advisable for people with some kinds of illness, like Apple and those with much sugar in their blood. Is it possible you tell us those fruits that are the best for the job.
