Computer industry giant Google announced recently that it is developing a virtually pain-free way to monitor blood glucose levels, without ever having to stick flesh with a needle.

The new device they are working on checks blood sugar levels using a special  for the eye.  In it, a microchip and miniature transmitter monitor levels and transmit the results painlessly, requiring no more finger sticks.

The device, though, is still in the developmental stage, with actual release not scheduled to occur for at least 5 more years.
