Brown body fat is a unique fatty tissue that instantly burns fat and sugar instead of storing it.

Up until now, it was believed that brown fat was only found in babies to help them keep warm.

However, various studies showed that adults also have significant amounts of this unique fatty tissue.

The amount of brown fat levels varies depending on ethnicity and body mass. A Dutch study compared the levels of brown fat in 12 Asian men with 12 Caucasian men.

The researchers placed study participants between 2 cooling mattresses, as colder temperatures trigger the activation of brown fat.

As the mattresses got colder, study participants started shivering and activated brown fat, which started burning fatty acids and glucose for warmth.

The research revealed that the Asian group used 32 % less energy than Caucasian group and their brown fat level was 34 % smaller compared to Caucasian group.

Another study with mice showed that activated brown fat can burn so much fat and glucose that it completely cured type 2 diabetes.

The great news is that we all have this fat, meaning we carry the cure for type 2 diabetes in side of us- we only need to activate it.
