It seems science is starting to catch up to something Nomadic folklore has known for quite some time.

And shockingly, it’s been roaming the deserts all this time.

A two year study in in India reflects that Camel’s milk improves the diabetic markers for both Type II AND Type I diabetics. This study furthered an initial 16-week trial at Cairo University. This study resulted in improvements for all diabetes sufferers who added Camel’s milk to their existing insulin regimen.

[adrotate group=”5″]During the trial, all of the study participants continued with their regular insulin intake. Half of them however, also added the daily consumption of a half-liter of camel’s milk. After sixteen weeks the results were dramatic. Those who included the camel milk, revealed an increase in C-peptide levels which hints as increasing the body’s secretion of insulin.

The follow up study then revealed that whooping 25% of the participants who added the camel’s milk no longer required insulin.

What makes this milk so beneficial?

Mineral count for one; camel milk is very high in iron, zinc and copper. Additionally, the high concentration of insulin in the milk does not coagulate.

One drawback to this natural elixir though is that camels comparatively do not produce much milk. Also, and likely even more inhibiting, is the strict regulations in countries outside Sudan and Somalia which make the commercial prospects of exporting this milk difficult.

On the bright side, this study and others continues to prove that there ARE natural alternatives
to even the most serious diseases including diabetes.
