Being interested in natural health, you maybe tempted to try a specific “natural” food-supplement available only through prescription.

It’s produced by drug makers who are now trying to go down the natural road. And they’re using a supplement that’s definitely beneficial in its natural form.

But be beware, because at least four cases for liver damage have been directly linked to this “natural” prescription supplement.

A substance found commonly in green tea, chatechins, in addition to other flavonoids, are what drug makers are using for a food-based prescription only formula to treat arthritis.

The chemical result of compounding the flavonoids into a food product is called flavocixid, and by the brand name Limbrel.

And just like some supplements, this concoction doesn’t have to be proven to be effective- or even safe- which is a set of hurdles all other prescriptions have to pass.

Because it’s a “medical food” it doesn’t merit the same scrutiny.

However, several users started turning up with liver damage after using this “supplement.” The liver damage then cleared up quickly after going off the “medical food” flavocoxid.

This tells us you should always practice caution whether or not the supplement/medication you’re prescribed is considered natural. This includes herbal remedies. Pay attention to any changes in your body after you begin using the supplements.

Note: although this supplement is made of substance found in green tea, it’s been processed heavily. Normal green tea remains as healthy as ever.
