The downside of running an online natural health magazine is often how distant we are from our readers. There is no way to sit down with all of you and brainstorm (something I love to do).

We’re often far apart in miles and time zones.

That’s why I love it when you leave a comment on our articles. I encourage you to tell us what you would like to hear.

And lately, we’ve been posting a weekly poll on the right hand side of this blog to get your input on pressing issues.

I’ll get right back to the poll and the surprising information it revealed a couple of weeks ago but first…

… I’ve a confession to make.

I grew up in a government-centered Scandinavian country where health care was free and nobody doubted the almighty doctors or the rules of the country. If mistakes were made, nobody was held accountable.

So what if they put a cast on my broken arm but did it wrong (when I was 10) so it was almost useless? Or if they overdosed me with antibiotic drugs at a young age – so when I really needed them, my body was resistant and they didn’t help any more- making me exposed to serious health problems?

As I matured, however, I began to wonder and search for alternative methods to improve my health. And over and over again, I found solutions that didn’t include serious side effects or high-risk surgeries. And I also realized there were others out there on the same quest.

But until a few days ago, I didn’t realize how many of us were skeptical about the government and medical system monitoring our medications and health.

Back to the poll…

According YOU, my dear readers, over 93% of those reading this blog said they did NOT trust the government to approve safe drugs.

This is an amazingly high number. More than 9 out of 10 people!

This doesn’t mean you and I won’t go to see a doctor. Or that we will not take medications when absolutely necessary. It simply means that we’re on the same quest to seek out natural methods whenever possible and be critical when it comes to which medications we take.

Don’t avoid visiting your doctor. But ask him/her tough questions. Research the drugs prescribed to you on the Internet and double-check that they are safe. Do your homework. Did you know that the average person will spend 15 times more effort and time researching what car to buy than what drug to take?

And most of all, research alternative methods. The Internet is a wonderful place to begin. Full of great information on everything under the sun to deal with natural health.

You can begin by checking out some of our Blue Heron natural health guides. Links are on the right hand side of this blog. These guides are written by me and other people on the same quest as you and me… for safe, healthy methods to gain natural health!
